Summary 1

Topic Title 1: User-Defined

When finding yourself at this stage, not only should you but also the client should have a good understanding of what the website is going to do and what it will serve as. It is a good idea to set up interviews, and focus groups to help with feedback on the site. Also, you are going to have to plan on having things go wrong when creating content.

Topic Title 2: Site Maps

Having a good understanding on what the site is meant for, who is using the site, and what people will eventually do once they get to the site is important with moving forward and planning things out for the site. It is a good idea to break your site into sections and do little reviews along the way to help with the development. Including planned meetings and workshops and even having brainstorming sessions can help map out things better and help to move along in the process of creating the site.

Topic Title 3: The Joys of Technology

Not every piece of technology works the same, plan for different servers to handle your site differently then what you are use to working with. You and the client to figure out how changes and updates will work in the future, and see if you two are on the same page moving forward or not. Lastly, there needs to be a plan for rolling out the new site, having it launched for a little and seeing what works and does not work and then shutting down the site for how long while these changes need to be made.
