Step 1 - PLAN
Concept Sheet
1. TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience for my Web Page ranges from students to potential employeers. The age range for students would be around 17-24. The age range for employee's in the Graphic Design and Museum Studies world would range from 24-70 years of age. The demographic is college educated
The market is comprised of two main segments
(Three are shown below, you can add or subtract as needed).
Primary Target:
Potential Employeers/Educators ( 50 %)
Secondary Target: Student Peer's ( 50 %)
2. TONE AND MANNER
Personality: The personality of the work site is imaginative and creative. The tone will be professional but also be readable for a regular college student.
Visual
What design tools will you use to convey the text images provided? (Consider audience and purpose)
3. PURPOSE OF MOCK-UP
From Plan the Perfect Site:
“Many web designers give scant regard to planning. Instead, they stream on in, basing a project’s cursory preparation on previous work, and hoping no problems will rudely smash them in the face along the way. But as Andy Budd, creative director of Clearleft notes: “Planning is integral to almost every project — its like asking how a blueprint benefited a building. You can’t build a building without doing a blueprint, otherwise the result will be ineffective and fall down!”
Now show images of your construction paper mock-up and explain how this helps you understand CSS Media Screen structures.
4. CONCEPT
The concept for my work site is to show proficency in web-design. The idea of the page is to be available to both students and potential educator's and business 22rofessionals.
5. EMPATHY FOR THE MARKET
The market I've chosen for my work site is comrpised of people ages 17-70. The design's chosen will appeal to both instructor's and fellow students.
6. VISUALLY REPRESENTING THE COMPANY
I will use design tools such as hierarchy, a creative color scheme, with ease of navigation throughout the site. The typography chosen will be readable to the chosen market and convey an ease of reading. Consistency will also be used to show a common theme and continue throughout the work site.
7. SKETCHING FOR THE WEB
There is no better way to efficiently test multiple ideas than effective sketching. A good sketch can test a layout or design in a matter of seconds.
Sketches for the web need to include computer screen, tablet screen, and smartphone screen. The designer needs to envision how the elements will move around the page and react to the changes in size.
