1. Creating lists in HTML to add character to an article.

HTML coding provides three list formats, which includes ordered lists, unordered lists, and definition lists. Ordered lists are numbered lists created with < ol > tags, and each item is encoded with a < li > tag. Unordered lists are bullets created with the < ul > tag and items are tagged the same as ordered lists. Definition lists are used for vocabulary terms, are started with < d1 >, use < dt > to state the term, and use < dd > to start the definition. Sub lists can be created by nesting the starting list tag within the tag.

2. Type is customizable using CSS.

Font can be serif, sans-serif, monospace, cursive, or fantasy. Using the font-family property specifies the type within elements. The size or scale is also customizable through the specification of pixels, percentages, or ems.The default scale is 16 pixels, which can be edited. Type can also be defaulted to italic, bold, uppercase or capitalized when the property is attached to a CSS box.

3. Text spacing can be manually controlled through CSS.

Text spacing is an important feature to control in order to improve legibility. One way to do so is through vertical leading, which is accessible by setting line-height to em's larger than 1. The kerning between letters can also be adjusted by increasing the gap over the default .25em, which is useful for bold or uppercase words. Text-alignment can also be changed to set a group of words in either the left, right or center position (this also includes line justification). Text can also be indented with the command text-indent. Some other niche features includes vertical alignment for captions, drop shadow, and first letter or line.
