In order to start the project of building a website one must include all stakeholders in the planning process to ensure its success. As without including everyone in the project’s plan the outcome may not be desired. Competitive analysis, involving the users, and creating site maps & wireframes. One must fully research the site’s users and the needs of the client in order to build a successful website. Site maps, user paths, and process flow of the website should be included when planning the project as well to structure the information architecture more easily. Wireframes are the key as it's known to be the website’s blueprint and can help greatly with the user interaction design of the site.

The Essential Site Planning Checklist

There are five things on the planning checklist that are essential to planning the perfect site. They’re the client, users, budget, technology, and the future. Planning the website alongside the client involves understanding their goals while bringing one’s knowledge, insight, and skills to the table. A budget is necessary so that the creator knows what freedom and limits they have when building and designing the site. One must note the technology guidelines when creating the site so that the site is well-structured, smooth, and nicely executed. Last, but not least a when building and/or designing a website the creator must have the agenda to build for the future. This means that the website should be able solve potential problem way after the site is complete.

Technology Delight

Most modern technology sites are pleasant to view to users due to their text and static imagery, images, video, animation, etc. So is useful to note that when using data outside the source will the site accepted those sources successfully. One must also determine how a change of content works with the site and if so how would it be done. Not doing so will destroy the perfect asthestic and structure of the creator’s perfect site. Lastly the site creator must decide how things are going to be transition over if client decide to move to another hosting site. As doing so will ensure the continuing success of the perfect site through a new host.
