Our Facilities

Welcome to Copper Summit Ski Resort

Copper Summit has been serving Michigan since 1949. The Brockway family has owned and operated Copper Summit since 1957. There are six lifts serving 10 runs, including numerous terrain features, and a snow tubing park on 43 acres. The ski season runs November through March, weather permitting. Recent additions to Copper Summit include Rocks and Valleys Off-Road Park.

Ski Facilities

Enjoy our 210-foot vertical drop and diverse slopes suitable for all levels: 30% beginner, 45% intermediate, and 10% advanced, with an additional 15% dedicated to terrain parks. Our modern infrastructure includes one triple chairlift, four rope tows, and a new Magic Carpet introduced last year.

Ski Lodge

Relax in our spacious 5,500-square-foot lodge featuring a bar and lounge upstairs. Enjoy delicious food at our Short Order Grill, browse our Rental Shop for top-quality equipment, and rest assured with our Ski Patrol First Aid Facility on standby. Conveniently located upstairs are our Ticket and Ski School Lesson Center for easy access.

Ski School Lesson Center

Join our team of over 30 PSIA/AASI certified instructors offering ski and snowboard lessons for all abilities. Choose from group or private sessions tailored to enhance your skills on the slopes.

Rental Shop Equipment

Select from our extensive inventory of equipment, including skis, snowboards, bindings, boots, and Snow Blades, ensuring you're equipped for an unforgettable experience.

Terrain Park

Excite your senses with our exhilarating terrain park, featuring jumps, bumps, rails, and table tops designed exclusively for boarders and skiers.

Tubing

Experience thrills with our two handle tows, four tubing runs, and 160 tubes. With a vertical drop of 100 feet and our longest run spanning 750 feet, tubing promises endless fun for all ages.

Off-Road Park

Explore Northern Michigan's rugged terrain in our off-road park, spanning over 200 acres with hills, rocks, mud, and a variety of trails suitable for all skill levels. Join us for an unforgettable off-road adventure.

Lounge

Copper Summit Ski is conveniently located in Ontonagon, Michigan, providing easy access from various parts of the state.

Avalanche Bar and Grill is our cozy mountainside lounge that overlooks the ski hill. It’s a great place to unwind after an exciting day of skiing or riding, have dinner and an adult beverage, or just share some laughs with old friends. With our extensive grill menu and full bar, you’ll find your time spent in the Avalanche a great addition to your day at Copper Summit!

Winter Bike Trails

Copper Summit is excited to add Winter Fat Bike Trails to its list of winter fun! Grab your fat tire bike and enjoy 6 miles of groomed trails. The six miles of trails consist of two loops: a one mile hilly curvy extreme trail (Zipper Loop) and a five mile loop through the wilderness (Golf Course Loop).

Trail Pass Cost:

Day Pass: $5
Season Trail Pass (until March 15) or end of snow: $40

Bike Rentals:

Two Hour Rental: $30

Directions

Copper Summit is conveniently located in Ontonagon, Michigan, providing easy access from various parts of the state.

From Northern Michigan: Take US-41 S toward Ontonagon. The destination will be on your right.

From Southern Michigan: Head north on I-75 N, then take exit 386 for M-28 W toward US-41/Munising/Marquette. Continue on M-28 W, then turn left onto US-45 N/US-41 N. Copper Summit Ski, Golf Tours will be on your left.

From Eastern Michigan: Take I-75 N toward Bay City, then merge onto US-23 N via exit 362 toward Standish. Continue on US-23 N, then merge onto M-28 W via exit 352B toward Marquette. Turn left onto US-45 N/US-41 N, and the destination will be on your left.

From Western Michigan: Head east on M-28 E toward Marquette. Continue on M-28 E, then turn right onto US-45 N/US-41 N. Copper Summit Ski, Golf will be on your left.

Drone Policy

For safety reasons and to protect guest privacy and resort property, Copper Summit Ski Area strictly prohibits the use of unmanned aerial systems, or drones, by the general public without prior written authorization. This includes recreational users, hobbyists, media, or journalists, whether operating within or above the resort boundaries.

Unauthorized drone use, whether launched from Ski Area property or private property outside the boundaries, is strictly prohibited. Please contact a resort representative at (989)539-6583 for authorization or inquiries regarding drone operation.

Authorized drone operation may be subject to FAA rules, local law enforcement, and resort policies, including certification, training, insurance, indemnification, and liability waivers. Violation of this policy may result in suspension of skiing privileges, season pass revocation, confiscation of drone equipment, and liability for damages and legal fees.
