Junction Valley Railroad

I redesigned a customer brochure for Junction Valley Railroad, which originally contained too much text and lacked clear hierarchy. My goal was to make the information more digestible and visually engaging, while aligning with the playful character of the business. The new design emphasizes typography, using structured section headers and intentional hierarchy to guide the reader’s eye. For example, when the brochure is opened to the map section, the left panel draws attention first due to its high contrast with the white background, before moving naturally to the center and right panels. To capture the brand’s family-friendly personality, I chose a fun, playful color palette and incorporated layered type treatments for the cover and headers, evoking the feeling of trains in motion. Rounded image borders add softness, balancing the design and reinforcing the approachable, welcoming tone of the railroad experience.
